Schwangau, Tegelberg-Bahn
The mountain Tegelberg offers a ski-run during winter and great walking tours in summer. There is also a toboggan run at the foot of the Tegelberg. A cable car brings you on top of the 1.800 meter mountain and gives you the opportunity to bask in the mountain sun.

Schwangau, Drehhuette
This little hut is very popular during the winter. The exhausting way to it on foot will be rewarded with drinks and snacks in the hut and the following sledge ride downhill.

Pfronten, Breitenbergbahn
The Breitenbergbahn brings you on top of the house mountain of Pfronten. Skiing during the winter and walking and relaxation during the summer.

Bad Woerishofen, Skyline-Park

Visit the thermal bath directly in Schwangau, overlooking the Alps and the castles. There are lots of possibilities to relax and rest, including a huge Sauna area.

A small historic town at the three-country-corner doesn't have only the lake Bodensee, but also lots of nice walks and opportunities to enjoy the day and relax in the nature.


Hohenschwangau, Schloss Neuschwanstein
The main attraction in Schwangau is of course the castle Neuschwanstein of the Bavarian King Ludwig II. Not only the Japanese, Chinese and Americans fancy this magical castle. It is a must for all visitor of Schwangau.

Fuessen, Koenig Ludwig Musical
The very successful musical about the life of king Ludwig II plays at the original scene; on foot of the Alps - surely with a brilliant view to the castles.

The church Wieskirche has become a famous place of pilgrimage because of its "gegeißelter Heiland", who helps people in hopeless situations. The church built in the Rokoko style was declared by the UNESCO to be a world cultural heritage. If you visit the church, bring warm clothes. The building is not heated.

Schloss Linderhof
Deep in the Alps, hid from any human beings, you can find the smallest castle of king Ludwig II. The king, always shy of people, retired often to this little castle. The castle is also known because of the glorious golden fountain.

Munich, Deutsches Museum
The "Deutsche Museum" is the biggest museum in the area and offers interesting stuff for everybody. The museum is famous for its imposing replicas. You can e.g. walk through a mine and experience the narrow and stuffy tunnels.


The closest neighbour of Schwangau offers lots of interesting sights, not only because of its mediaeval history. The city was also successful with its violin-makers.

The city Kempten can proof a 2000 year history. Historic roman baths and interesting exvacuations can be visited.

Innsbruck, Capital of Tirol, Austria
The capital of Tirol is not only famous because of the ski jump and the annual championship called "Vier-Schanzen-Tournee". During the trip to Innsbruck you can enjoy a beautiful landscape which is worth a look.

Augsburg, Schwaben
The 2.000 years old "Fuggerstadt" is the cultural center of Schwaben and has like Kempten an interesting roman history.

The little village is famous for its wood-carving and the Passion play taking place every 10 years. The "Romantic Road" is going through the village.

In Ottobeuren you will find a famous basilica and a stronghold for all enthusiasts of classic music.

The climatic health resort is the home of the famous monastery "Ettal". Very popular with the tourists .

The skiing area Oberstdorf invites you for skiing and cross country skiing in the winter. The famous ski-jump championship "Vier-Schanzen-Tournee" takes place, among other cities, in Oberstdorf.
